The midfielder also impressed at the World Cup with Argentina and since then more and more clubs have been monitoring his situation.
Now his father, Carlos – a former footballer himself – has spoken about his son’s future amid reported interest from clubs including Chelsea and Arsenal.
“At the moment he is at Brighton,” Carlos told TyC Sports. “It seems to me a very good thing that he came back from the World Cup and that he did not despair of leaving, enjoying success serenely and in peace, in a team that loves him very much.
“The reception he has received has been the best. He is very well at the club. We all know that in July there will be possibilities of being able to leave.
“But before the World Cup, Alexis renewed his contract so that the club also had the opportunity of an important transfer, so that many could join Brighton. That’s the idea. »
Mac Allister himself has spoken of his desire to stay at Brighton and that he is happy with the Seagulls.
