Miami Upsets Indiana in NCAA Tournament

Indiana basketball faced off against Miami in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Miami took an early lead in the game, scoring the first eight points. Indiana’s Miller Kopp put IU on the board with a three-pointer from the left corner, but Miami maintained their lead throughout the first half. Trayce Jackson-Davis did his best to keep IU in the game, scoring a total of 22 points, but Nijel Pack led Miami to victory with 23 points. Miami won the game 81-69 and will advance to play No. 1 seed Houston in Kansas City, MO.

Wooga Poplar and Nijel Pack were among Miami’s top scorers, while IU struggled to find Trayce Jackson-Davis on offense. IU Basketball vs. Miami in NCAA Tournament Second Round

The Indiana Hoosiers faced off against the Miami Hurricanes in the second round of the NCAA tournament. The winner of the game would advance to the Midwest Region Sweet 16.

IU’s Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson were the stars of their first-round victory against Kent State. The Hoosiers were hoping to secure their first Sweet 16 berth since 2016.

Miami, on the other hand, rallied to beat Drake in their first-round matchup after being down by 8 points with less than 6 minutes left. The former Lawrence Central High School standout, Nijel Pack, led Miami with 21 points. Isaiah Wong, Jordan Miller, Norchad Omier, and Pack all averaged in double figures.

Miami started off strong and aggressive in the opening minutes, and they led the entire way, shooting 55% from the field. Pack and Wong led Miami with 10 points each, while Trayce Jackson-Davis did his best to keep IU in the game with 11 points and 4 rebounds. Miami had a +4 rebounding advantage.

Miami maintained its lead throughout the first half, and Indiana struggled to catch up. A 10-0 run by Indiana, capped off by a Trey Galloway 3-pointer, brought the Hoosiers within 28-25 with 3:37 left in the first half.

However, Miami’s Isaiah Wong made a 4-point play on a three-point shot and a foul by JHS with 5:49 left in the first half. This was JHS’s second foul, and he went to the bench with 4 points.

TJD scored 5 quick points and had 9 total for the game, while Nijel Pack continued his hot streak, scoring 10 points in the first half.

Miami held a 40-35 lead at halftime.

Miami continued to dominate the game in the second half, maintaining their lead over Indiana. Miami made 6 of its first 8 shots and was driving into the lane with ease. In contrast, Indiana struggled to find TJD on offense, and he had not attempted a shot in the first few minutes.

Despite Indiana’s efforts to catch up, Miami was too strong, and they won the game 81-69. Miami’s Nijel Pack finished the game with a team-high 23 points, while Trayce Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with 22 points.

The winner of this game will play No. 1 seed Houston in Kansas City, MO. Zach Osterman, Tyler Tachman, and Gregg Doyel provided live updates, and highlights were available.

IU’s Miller Kopp made a 3-pointer from the left corner with 17:24 left in the game, putting the Hoosiers on the board. However, Miami had already scored the first 8 points of the game.

Wooga Poplar drove and scored to make it 6-0 Miami. Nijel Pack followed with a basket to make it 4-0 Miami, and Poplar scored the game’s first points on a putback of his own miss.
