Mavericks Welcome Back Kyrie

Kyrie Irving has made his long-awaited return to the Mavericks lineup after being out for three games due to right foot soreness. During his absence, the team struggled to close out games and lost three games within ten days, making Luka Doncic’s return from a quad injury all the more important. Doncic is still day-to-day, and his next game against Golden State will have playoff seeding implications.

Irving’s leadership qualities have also been notable off the court, with teammate Maxi Kleber speaking highly of his positive influence on the team. The Mavericks are currently in a tight playoff race, with little separation between the 6th seed and the play-in spots.

Despite a critical error that led to overtime against the Spurs, Irving made an impressive comeback performance, scoring 38 points in a win over the Lakers. With Irving and Doncic hopefully returning to full strength, the Mavericks will be looking to secure their spot in the postseason and make a deep playoff run.
