The Alabama Crimson Tide football team has begun its spring football activities. During the first press conference of the season, Coach Nick Saban stated that starting linebackers Dallas Turner and Deontae Lawson are likely to miss all of spring practice due to surgeries. While this is not ideal news for the team, the coach does not expect any long-term issues with their surgeries. Turner and Lawson are both expected to provide great play and leadership for the Tide defense once they return. Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor the status of the injured players for the Crimson Tide.
Alabama’s Starting Linebackers May Miss Entire Spring Practice: Coach Nick Saban
The Alabama Crimson Tide football team began their spring football activities on Monday with the first of 14 total practices. Head coach Nick Saban spoke to the media after the practice and provided an injury report. Two starting linebackers for the team, Dallas Turner and Deontae Lawson, may miss all of the spring practice as both players have had surgeries.
According to Saban, “Probably Deontae Lawson and Dallas Turner are two guys that are probably out of the spring completely. Both guys have had surgeries. Shouldn’t be any issues for them moving forward, but they’re probably out for the entire spring.”
Although this is not ideal news for the team, the fact that the coach doesn’t expect any long-term issues with their surgeries is encouraging for both players. Turner and Lawson are expected to provide great leadership and play for the Tide defense once they return.
Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor the status of Turner, Lawson, and all of the other injured players for the Crimson Tide.
