Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake: A Dreamy Dessert

This Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake is a dream come true for chocolate lovers. With layers of rich chocolate cake, dark and milk chocolate mousse, and a luscious chocolate glaze, it’s a truly decadent dessert.

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk

For the Mousse Layers:

  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 200g milk chocolate, chopped
  • 600ml heavy cream, divided
  • 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 4 tablespoons water

For the Chocolate Glaze:

  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 100ml heavy cream

For Decoration:

  • Chocolate curls or shavings
  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cake:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch springform pan.
    • Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
    • Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
    • Alternately add dry and wet ingredients, ending with dry. Pour into pan.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool completely.
  2. Make the Mousse Layers:

    • Dark Chocolate Mousse: Bloom gelatin in water. Melt dark chocolate. Warm half the cream and stir in gelatin. Mix into chocolate, then fold in whipped cream.
    • Milk Chocolate Mousse: Repeat the process with milk chocolate and the remaining cream.
  3. Assemble the Cake:

    • Place the cooled cake in the springform pan.
    • Layer the dark chocolate mousse, then the milk chocolate mousse.
    • Melt chocolate and cream for the glaze. Pour over the mousse.
    • Chill for at least 4 hours.
  4. Garnish and Serve:

    • Garnish with chocolate curls and mint leaves before serving.

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate.
  • To prevent the mousse from curdling, ensure the cream and chocolate are at room temperature before combining.
  • For a more intense chocolate flavor, add a teaspoon of instant coffee powder to the ganache.
  • To make the cake ahead of time, assemble it and refrigerate it for up to 2 days.
