The BBQ pork ribs that we will prepare today are a classic recipe of North American cuisine that has been widely adopted in Mexico to the satisfaction of our palates. They are very easy to prepare but they do require a little time so it is necessary that you take that factor when you are going to do them.
Personally, I love BBQ ribs and lemon pork ribs, and I usually, like many, go to eat them at a restaurant mainly for comfort. However, there is nothing better than preparing your own ribs at home to share with friends around a few good glasses of wine.

How to make Pork Ribs to BBQ

To prepare these pork ribs we will boil water in a large pot with 1/2 onion and a clove of garlic. When the water is boiling we put the cutters to boil. Lower the fire over medium heat and leave an hour in slow cooking until the meat is well cooked.
Meanwhile, we will prepare the BBQ sauce (or Barbecue) and for this, we will chop 1 tablespoon of onion and put it in a pot with a few drops of vegetable oil. Fry for a couple of minutes and add the chopped garlic, apple cider vinegar, English sauce, ketchup, and lemon juice.
Bring to medium heat about to boil. Now lower the fire to a minimum, add the Dijon mustard teaspoon, tomato puree, sugar, paprika, cayenne, and season with salt and black pepper. Stir and leave in the fire for about 20 minutes so that the sauce thickens.
At the end of the cooking time, we remove the ribs from the water and place them on a baking sheet. Then we cover them abundantly with BBQ sauce and put them in a hot oven at 175ºC for half an hour. After fifteen minutes we take out the ribs, add more sauce and bake them again for the remaining 15 minutes.
The secret to making these ribs tender and juicy is to boil them well in water. There are other recipes that recommend cooking them in the oven for a couple of hours instead of boiling them. This technique can leave them dry so I really do not advise them.
With what to accompany the pork ribs to the BBQ
The BBQ pork ribs are really delicious to share at a casual meal. I recommend of course eating them with your hands and serving them hot with mashed potatoes or with corn butter. A glass of red wine or a dark beer could combine very well with this dish.
