Ingredients:
- For the Dough:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs

- 400g cream cheese, softened

Instructions:
- Prepare the Oven & Pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 10×15-inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
- Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, ensuring it combines smoothly.
- Assemble the Bars: Spread approximately ¾ of the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Set aside the remaining dough for topping. In another bowl, blend together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly over the dough. Then, top it with the cherry pie filling.
- Top the Bars: Drop spoonfuls of the reserved dough over the cherry filling.
- Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top turns golden brown, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool & Serve: Allow the bars to cool slightly before cutting them into squares. Let them cool completely before serving.
