Shia LaBeouf withdraws from promotion of his latest Netflix movie
The actor is being sued for assault and abuse by the British singer
Shia LaBeouf was removed from the Netflix Awards FYC, a list of works highlighted by the platform during awards season, for his work on Piece Of A Woman. He also disappeared from the promotional campaign for the film, in which he stars alongside Vanessa Kirby. If the streaming giant had highlighted the actor's work, the accusations of violence and physical and mental abuse brought against him by his ex FKA Twigs pushed the SVOD giant to support only Vanessa Kirby.
The actor was also removed from the synopsis of the film, and all images of the page presentation of the movie on which it appeared to have been removed, as noted in People.
Far from denying the accusations against him, Shia LaBeouf apologized by responding to the New York Times article. Faced with accusations from his ex-girlfriend and another of his romances, the Indiana Jones 4 star explained that he was trying to get his life back on the right track and suffer from alcoholism and post-traumatic stress disorder.
"I am not cured of my PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and my alcoholism, but I am committed to doing whatever it takes to get well, and I will always be sorry for the people I have." could hurt along the way, ”he revealed.
Piece of a Woman will be released on Netflix on January 7th.
