On Monday March 15, TF1 will broadcast the unpublished two-part fiction La Traque . Adapted from the book La mésange et l'ogresse by Harold Cobert, the film, directed by Yves Rénier, follows the work of two investigators camped by François-Xavier Demaison and Mélanie Bernier, to unmask and imprison the Fourniret couple in the early 2000s. It is the actor Philippe Torreton who plays the one we have nicknamed "the ogre of the Ardennes", while the wife and accomplice of the latter is played by Isabelle Gélinas.

The fiction begins on June 26, 2003, when Michel Fourniret is arrested for attempted kidnapping of a minor. He risks, at best, only a few months in prison. Yet the police are convinced they are dealing with a serial killer. But they have no proof ... The countdown begins and then begins a real psychological hunt ...

The announcement of the project had provoked strong reactions, in particular from the families of the victims, who spoke of " a commercial use of suffering" . In a press release unveiled on August 12, the son of the Fourniret couple also expressed his deep indignation: " Today, I had the unpleasant surprise to learn of the start of a" fiction "on the case Fourniret who forever destroyed the lives of countless families, not to mention mine, if indeed it is worth anything in the eyes of TF1 (...) How dare you make this interminable tragedy a ... fiction? How dare you elevate Michel to the rank of hero of a film? "
